Sampson Regional Medical Center currently seek a Clinical Nurse Leader for the Emergency Department.  This individual acts as a resource for and extension of the Unit Director.  Assists Director in ensuring quality patient care. Serves as a role model for professional nursing practice.  Coordinates the daily clinical activities of the department. Assists physicians as needed to provide quality care for the patients.  Assumes responsibility of the unit in the absence of the department Director.  Accountability for patient care management specific to assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation.  Evaluates the care provided to patients to achieve optimal patient outcomes.  Has knowledge of and appropriately utilizes chain of command.  Serves as a member of the Professional Development Team.  Maintains a high level of nursing care and a safe environment for all patients cared for within the department. Maintains a high level of clinical competency.  Participates in development, maintenance, and implementation of unit standards of care and process improvement. Monitors patient care and customer service provided and collaborates in developing strategies for improvement.  Accountable to Clinical Nurse Leader Team, Unit Specific and Organizational Goal Outcomes. RN with a minimum of two (2) years working in a staff nurse role in area/department where applying for Clinical Leader role. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.  Current N.C. Registered Nurse license.  Current CPR:  BCLS, ACLS and PALS.  Evidence of continuing education in specialty or acute care setting, leadership skills or other applicable topics. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability and to follow through to completion.  Analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams that include physicians, respiratory, physical therapist, dietitians and other caregivers. Good leadership skills and positive role model.  Expert-level patient care skills for area assigned.  Day shift available. 36 hours per week.
